Things to remember
Reading with your children is incredibly valuable. Reading for 10-15 minutes each day will make a huge difference. Please comment in the reading record when you have read with your child. Children will have opportunity to change their books daily if they have completed their book and an adult has commented to confirm this. Book bags need to be in school each day so that Mrs Russell and I can also read with children, as well as assessing their reading ability to ensure good progress is achieved.
Our PE days are; indoor PE on a Monday afternoon and outdoor PE on a Tuesday afternoon. Please ensure that children have the correct PE kit in school on a Monday. No jewellery is to be worn (earrings to be removed before school), and children will need to have a bobble or similar to tie long hair up.
Finally, homework will be set on a Friday. Please ensure children complete homework and it is handed in by Wednesday at the latest. The homework will be set to support an area of learning from the week which could be English or maths, and there will be a mental maths sheet to attack! In addition, children will be sent home with a set of spellings to learn, ready to be tested on a Friday. Please try to encourage children to complete homework and spellings as it really does help in reinforcing their learning at school.
